NJ American Water (Coastal North System)

NJ American Water’s Coastal North system is the dominant water authority for Monmouth County, serving the vast majority of the county’s 53 municipalities from the Manasquan Reservoir system, the Raritan-Millstone WTP, and groundwater sources throughout the county. Annual test reports must be submitted to NJAW.CrossConnection@amwater.com or 848-232-8309. South Jersey Backflow has maintained current NJ American Water Coastal North filing protocols since 2004.

Freehold Township Water & Sewer (est.

Freehold Township Water and Sewer — established in 1798, making it one of the oldest water utilities in New Jersey — operates its own system with 10 production wells and approximately 29,831 customers, also serving portions of Colts Neck. Annual test reports for Freehold Township customers are submitted to Freehold Township Water & Sewer.

NJ Water Supply Authority (Manasquan System)

The NJ Water Supply Authority’s Manasquan system provides approximately 60% of water supply for Brielle, Sea Girt, Spring Lake, Spring Lake Heights, and Wall Township through the NJ American Water distribution network. The NJWSA manages the Manasquan Reservoir and delivers finished water wholesale.

Individual Municipal Systems

Freehold Borough, Manalapan Township, Marlboro Township, and Howell Township each operate their own water systems. South Jersey Backflow files directly with each.
